Fun, Beautiful Wedding with Portraits Outside Fire Department // McMinnville, Oregon Wedding Photographer

Kyle and Jess were married on a beautiful day that you wouldn't believe was at the end of October in the Midwest. It was much warmer than the freezing cold day when we took their engagement photos, haha. All the details came together beautifully for the last of my three October weddings in Ohio this year. Some of my personal favorites were the beautiful lace on Jess' dress, the amazingly fun wedding party, and, of course, the cute, old puppy at Jess' aunt's house where the girls were getting ready. I'm a sucker for puppies. :)

Kyle and Jess opted not to have a first look, but Kyle did send his bride-to-be a personal note delivered by the best man. It must have been perfect because Jess had a beautiful and emotional reaction to the letter.

After the ceremony, we ventured over to the nearby Kettering Fire Department building. The Kettering Fire Department were very generous and graciously allowed us to photograph outside with the option to go in. Jess loved the beautiful stonework and large, arched doors on the outside of the building, and I have to say that it was indeed amazing.

Not only was the Fire Department amazing, but I do have to mention that there were such great vendors throughout the day! I loved spending the day with the sweet, kind videographers. We made a great team. :) And I also have to mention that the DJ was so much fun! He got all the guests involved throughout the reception. He used trivia about the bride and groom to release the tables for the buffet, and led a scavenger hunt/musical chairs game with a representative from each table in the middle of the dance floor. Each time an item was to be found from your teammates at your table, some of the chairs were removed until only two were left. At that point, the final two guests on the dance floor had to compete for the longest dance train, which got most of the wedding guests involved. The winner made up a unique dance move that all the guests had to do whenever the DJ announced it. Kyle and Jess weren't the only ones that loved this DJ because many of their friends had him at their weddings, too!

The reception had a lot of fun, memorable highlights. First was the absolutely fun dancing. From the dollar dance to the multiple dance trains, it was a blast! I loved that so many of Kyle and Jess' relatives got involved, including their sweet grandparents. Another one of the highlights of the reception was during the garter toss. Kyle accidentally threw the garter into the ceiling where it got stuck! A couple of the guys that were out on the dance floor tried lifting each other up to grab it, but none were successful. That is until later on during the reception, one of the guys found a ladder, brought it to the center of the dance floor, and climbed the ladder just to find the garter. It was hilarious!

The fun celebration of the beginning of Kyle and Jess' marriage was perfect from beginning to end. Kyle and Jess, I pray that your marriage is even more amazing than your wedding day! Congratulations on the beginning of your lifetime together!

A big round of applause for the vendors who made this day possible!
