How to Make Your Wedding Photographer Love You

How to Make Your Wedding Photographer Love You

We all want your wedding day to be the best it can possibly be so that you can relax and simply celebrate. Here are a few ways to make your wedding day bit more relaxing for your photographer, too (with the bonus of you getting even more awesome photos):

1) Light, light, light!

It's all about the light. For instance, when getting ready, make sure to do so in a place with plenty of window light or even outside. Many photographers like to take photos near window light and actually turn off the rest of the lights in the room so there aren't gross colors from a different colored light behind you.

2) Declutter

There's nothing that will ruin a getting ready photo like a box of tampons or your bridesmaid's breast pump. Take a second to clear the clutter out of the way of where your photos will be taken. Or better yet, delegate the job to your girls. I'm always moving things around and willing to help.

3) Use reflected light to your advantage.

Reflected light is absolutely magical! Jordan and Shantel's wedding reception is the perfect example. Their amazing backyard reception had the setting sun behind the head table and a white dance floor in front. This provided pretty hair light and some wonderful light bouncing back to the bridal party to light up their eyes.

4) Finally, be yourself!

Are you awkward? Then be awkward! Do you smile and laugh a lot like Hannah and Brandon, then smile and laugh a lot! Your wedding day is about capturing you and your love on the first day of the most amazing journey together.
