Pasco, Washington // Intimate Backyard Wedding by Adventure Wedding Photographer
About a week-and-a-half ago I had the honor of photographing Mick and Janet's wedding day. The ceremony was in their backyard, and the furniture was moved from the living room to make way for the guests to eat and celebrate. It was an intimate celebration with their closest friends and family, and it was perfect.
Mick and Janet have a beautiful love story overcoming grief, pain, and loss of loved ones to bring them to this point. A time they never saw coming; one that they never could have dreamed of. They went from friends, to best friends, to falling in love. And then, last week they said "I do" to spending the rest of their lives together.
Mick and Janet are a fun couple. I enjoyed seeing them share the other day about their first ride as husband and wife. Yes, they both ride Harleys. Mick's is as loud as possible, and Janet's is pink and sparkly. Soon the weather will be nice and they will be able to adventure out on their boat, launching from where we took some of their portraits.
They opted for a first look, which was perfect for their day. The rain stopped, the ground dried up, and in front of their beautiful front door they started their day together. (Well, I did hear that Janet texted Mick to sneak in for a kiss earlier that morning before she got ready. That made me happy.)
It's kind of funny that I've been using the name "Mick" all this time, as I usually call this man "Dad." Yes, I had the honor of photographing my father-in-law's wedding. The joining of families is a joining of my family, too. I don't want to make this about me, so I'm trying not to say too much about myself, but yes I cried during the beautiful ceremony, and yes I smiled during their first look, and yes I think this whole thing is wonderful.
Congratulations, Dad and Janet! May this be the beginning of something wonderful. Love you!
