Wet and Windy Laughter-Filled Coastal Couples Session // Portland, Oregon Couples Photographer

The Oregon Coast is such a beautiful place. It is often rainy, but I actually like that (and chose it by moving here, haha). I truly love all of what the Pacific Northwest provides—rain and all. Everywhere is beautiful, but there's something magical here. And the coast is a little extra special. The cliffs and the rocks make an absolutely stunning landscape. There's a reason so many people love it here.

What makes scenery like that even better is a bit of laughter and fun added to the mix. Kyle and Makayla, who just celebrated their 2 year dating anniversary (yay!), were such a fun couple to photograph. They are also such troopers because they smiled and laughed all the way through their session in the rain and wind of Cape Kiwanda on the Oregon Coast. Laughter, so much laughter—it is good for the soul. :)

I like how the wet and rain made the aesthetic of this session a bit different. At the end, we were not only experiencing the rain, but also the wind carrying the spray of the crashing waves below us up to completely soak us. (Thank goodness for weather sealed photography gear, right?!) It just shows, that the "perfect" photography conditions are a myth. What's perfect to me, is the real experience and the connection between hearts.

Kyle and Makayla, thank you again for taking the plunge into the cold and rain with me. As I look back through the photos, I don't see cold but joy and fun. I hope that these images will warm your heart the same way they did for me. :)
